Late On The Uptake But..

... I'm starting this challenge. I've been using honey as a face mask for years, but not every day. Stress has made my face break out and dry up so I'm keen to get it back in order!

More info on the challenge and benefits of washing your face with honey can be found here.

Cauliflower Pizza Base (Low-carb)

So I tried the cauliflower pizza base recipe I found on Your Lighter Side, and it was lovely! I never really expected it to be like a real pizza base, cauliflower could never replace the soft doughy goodness a proper pizza base is, but this is definitely a recipe I'd make again.

{before the toppings}

 {after = monstrosity of goodness}

 {normal pizza creation for my dude who isn't interested in this fancy schmancy stuff we call 'low carb'}

All in all it tasted great; I substituted the parsley the recipe called for with pepper and garlic, as well as using a mozzarella/cheddar mix instead of just plain ol' mozz. Thought I'd be risky like that.

What I Ate Wednesday

Breakfast: Oat, Soy milk, PB & banana smoothie (forgot to add the protein powder.. )
Snack: 2 rice cakes w/ PB & J
Snack: Alpro Soya Chocolate Dessert w/ Strawberries (my new obsession)

My day so far... I'm feeling really ill so the appetite really isn't there but I'm hoping things change within the next few hours because I'm hanging to try this recipe for low-carb cauliflower pizza dough. If so, the end result should be up on here tomorrow!

P.S. I'm totally aware my last post was MONTHS ago. I'm happy to say that since then I've lost 12 kilos... :)

I got a letter from my GP today asking me to come in for a diabetes screening, and whilst it could very well be because of my family history of type 2 diabetes, I'm quite positive that it's more because I'm overweight by about 22 kilos.

I've started this journey many times. I'd like to sit here and say that this letter scared me in to doing it for real but to be honest, I'm doing it more for vanity than anything else. Summer is on it's way and I'm not prepared to suffer through the warm months feeling extremely uncomfortable, and I'm definitely not prepared for my other half to see how truly insecure I am with my body.

This is mainly about accountability. I need to be able to share this journey with someone, anyone. No-one close really takes being healthy seriously (I'm surrounded by miniature girlfriends, and a very built, fit - but very supportive - boyfriend). I guess I'm reaching out to people that understand how hard making such a big change is.

This is an anonymous blog... but just because you don't know my identity doesn't mean the words posted here aren't reflective of how I'm feeling.

I plan on losing the inches, kilos (and maybe my sanity sometimes), but not sight of my goal.
